Personality: Somewhat cavalier, Arliss’ bold and sardonic personality can sometimes rub people the wrong way, especially his habit of making jokes during situations that are very sombre or dire. He does not typically mean to offend, but rather finds that jokes, sassy comments, inappropriate subject changes, and general foolishness are self soothing and a great comfort during stressful events of dubious outcome.

Skills:

 Telekinesis- He has minor telekinetic skills. He cannot lift or move anything that he would not be able to do physically. It is mainly used for slight conveniences, practical jokes, or as a fun party trick.
 Enchantment - He has some mage skill. He is able to enchant only his bullets with a few limited sets of properties, making rounds that fire, for example, flares of light or sticky resin traps instead of projectiles. He has the ability to create and use the following rounds: Fire, Poison, Ice, Flare, Explosive, Resin.
 Strategy- Mama didn’t raise no fool. He is normally quite adept at assessing situations and finding a way to work things to his advantage.
 Dance Moves- Off the hook.
 Personal Style- Baller.


Is there anything you feel very STRONGLY that your character NOT be drawn doing?: Lying! He will not tell an outright lie, though he is a bit more lenient on “bending the truth”, or holding certain information back (which some might consider lying by omission). His religion teaches him the tenets of honesty, charity, and mercy, which are to be used in equal parts to bring balance to your life.

Other: He has an unusual, lazy way of speaking in which words are easily and often conjoined. This is especially apparent when one word ends with the same letter as the first letter of the following word, such as in his own name, Arliss Singh, which he runs together into “Arlasing”. It is unclear whether this is simply his own cadence, or the byproduct of a regional dialect in which differentiation between words is less important.

Backstory:

Originally from the country of Obriar, Arliss served in their army as they went to war against a neighbouring nation over land claims that had historically been a point of contention. After Obriar successfully took control over the disputed lands, Arliss left service and moved to a scenic part of the land claim, a chain of large islands temporarily called First Verdant (due to their rich, green environment) by the Obrisi while they settled into “bringing civilization” to their newly conquered lands.

Unfortunately, temporarily never ended. The years wore on, and while the Obrisi Empire settled and gentrified the heart of their new lands, the outer areas, inconvenient to travel to and easy to ignore, fell into chaos. Pirates, smugglers, and outlaws enjoyed their reign where the “civilized” arms of Obrisi law did not reach.

Sick of seeing his new homeland ravaged by criminals, Arliss chose to take the law into his own hands, declaring himself sheriff of First Verdant, despite having no government authority to do so (ironically becoming an outlaw, himself). Using his skills, both magical and militant, he attempts to clean up the islands that he now calls home.
